Matag A606 Washing Machine Motor Hums?

I do not have a diagram inside my machine, I looked for one.

Also, I can not find a capacitor anywhere unless it is internal to the motor. And I don't think it has one. Usually they are on the outside of the motor.

I'll keep working on it; but I feel I might look for a new one .

Thermal cutout in the motor would just not start and no humming noise. Capacitor if it has one is usually inside the control panel on most Maytag machines. Most Maytag machines also have a wiring diagram inside the panel which may help.

Motor turns freely without belts. But it still hums.
I checked terminals...black ohms to orange, white, and yellow; brown to red. No ohm to case.

I see the centrifugal switch but can't tell for sure I think it is engaged and not locked out to run. Where is the capacitor for this motor..internal?? What about the thermal cutout, would it cause a hum or would it be off or on??

Thanks for your help! This unit is old over 30 yrs?? I don't know if it is worth reworking...belts, hose etc!

Can you turn motor & pulley freely both ways & you are sure nothing is seized up (you can check by starting motor with the belt off & see if it starts & runs normally) If it will not start & still hums, then either the start winding of the motor is faulty, the centrifugal start switch is stuck in the run position or the start capacitor may be faulty.
