Mend Maytag Washer Spin Problem Replaced

Maytag Washer LAT8306AAE/Serial 15083427SF spin cyle problem?

I just replaced the complete timer mechanism and all the cycles are now functioning OK except the spin cycle. The lid switch appears to be working. Normally the Spray/Spin cycle goes to spin only to finish wringing the clothes. Now however the water continues to to enter the tube as it would in the spray/spin cycle and doesn't shut off until the complete cycle is done leaving the clothes still wet. What could be causing it? Could it be related to a Water Level Switch problem as someone else suggested or what?
