Mend Ford Escort Diesel Fuel Pump No Start

M reg escort 1.8 turbo diesel will not start?

Car broke down and will not start, engine cranks, no fuel coming from injectors at unions when slackened off, have feed to pump, cam belt intact, is there a lift pump as have not had a proper look at it yet, also anyone have any other ideas ?

check pump drive belt hasnot snapped, also on the fuel pump there is a shut off solonoide this can be sucked in the shut possition if ignition is turned off at moderat hi revs, also check the wire feeding it has a supply when ign on if faulty its not an arm n leg to renew
