bad odours?

i had some nasty wiffs from my old washer, was told by someone in the know its the fault of modern washing powder/ washing machines. they wash with less water than ever cooler/ cold evan than ever aloughing bacterea to live and breed in the tub. sudgest NEVER leav anythin in the machine, always leave the door open after the wash to let the machine dry out properly, set the machine on a maximum heat wash with nothin in it ,no soap no conditioner. just half a cup of thin bleach streight in the drum this will help the boiling water kill off bacterea/ germs in the drum, do this every 6 months or so
