How to fix an ink problem on my epson 220?

My epson 220 will not print magenta even tho I have changed the cartridge and run the cleaning cycle several times, I had this problem with an R 300 as well but it cured itself after a while, any idea on what could be wrong and how to solve it. Thanks

I also have exactly the same problem with Magenta not printing, changed the cartridge cleaned nozzle etc with no joy. Anyone any ideas
