troy bilt weedeater has no nesistance when cord is pull. doesn't start. ??

when i try to use my weedeater by pulling on the pull cord, no resistance is notice as in the past. the weedeater doesn't work.

2 posibilities:starter dogs in mechanisim faultyor zoro compression.remove starter and see if resistance is felt roteting drive shaft.if so then starter fault.if not then engine internal fault.
