Mend Troy-Bilt TB20SC Broken Starter Broke

Broken String on my Troy Bilt TB 20SC Trimmer?

The pull starter string broke. I have the shaft off but cannot get the silver pully off to get the red shroud off. I have the torex driver for this but the engine cranks when I turn the driver. Any advice?

You need to locate a special tool. You pull the spark plug and then screw in this other tool. It blocks the piston from moving so that you can remove the clutch assembly. Once the clutch is removed you can remove the red housing. I am looking for one myself.
