why is the fuse blowing on my sears garden tractor mod. no. 917.276320?

when i turn ignition key on the fuse blows. where is the short.

The wiring coming from the ignition might be rubbing against the steering column causing one of the wires to become abraided.

More than likely its the solenoid, connected in the heavy starter motor wires thats at fault.....disconnect the thin wires at the push on terminals, turn the ignition on and see if the fuse holds.
