I have a craftsman riding lawnmower?

model # 917.272072. 17 hp. when I replace the fuse; it blows upon the turn of the ignition key. What seems to be the problem{s}?

Dead short, many shorts start in the key switch, this is where i would start, it is a non servicable item so replace,next part to check is the solinoid, if this does not work check the wiring loom close to the moving belts or in the area of the deck lift for trapped and chaffed wires.
