Mend Brother Needle Not Picking

Needle is not picking up cotton from the spool. Why not?

Brother Sewing Machine with a Swing Needle. The Needle is not picking up the cotton from the Spool Why not? What can I do to rectify this problem.

Hello Rosemary,
If you have put a new needle in and the problem is still there then your machine will need retiming, I can attach timing instructions if you e-mail me.
