Mend Hoover U5071-930 Vacuum Motor

Hoover vacuum elite supreme U5071-930 motor keeps stopping?

Hover Vacuum Elite Supreme Model U5071-931cleaner for a few minutes then stops. Then it will start back up only to stop a few seconds/minutes later. I figure it must be something simple but can't figure it out. Any suggestions?

My vacuum (WindTunnel) does the same thing. When I looked at the bottom of the vacuum a sticker said the motor will turn off when it overheats. So now I'm surfing the net looking for how to fix this. No luck yet.

I had the same problem. Was with a James hoover at work...5 blocks of stairs with a hoover that only wants to work 10 seconds on, 30 seconds off.

The only thing I can think of is it might be over heating? My boss said lose wiring but you can just leave it there and it turns itself on and off constantly. Also, moving the wires has no effect. And it always seems to work the longest when I first start it up.

Please can someone confirm or correct me?
