Mend Kohler LT 1000 Replaced Tank Fuel Carb

I replaced a gas tank on a Craftsman LT 1000 with a 18HP Kohler?

But now it's not getting fuel to the carb? If you pour gas into the carb it starts, then dies when out of gas.
Could the fuel pump have gone out now?

You have your lines hooked up correctly. unplug the fuel line from the tank with a little gas in the tank and see if it flows out.
