How can we fix our GE washing machine, it is very noisey while agitating?

We've had to replace the clip under the washer tub twice now. It cost us about $12 but thankfully it was guaranteed for life so hopefully we can get the second one no charge. For some reason, it grinds the clip to tiny metal dust and eventually the whole thing goes. It kept getting louder and sounded like an earthquake in our house while the wash was going (hey, we're lazy when it comes to home repair) and finally, kablam, nothing but soppy clothes. Hope that helps.

Does it sound like the motor is clicking on and off when running? Mine is now doing this and my conclusion after testing and internet search is the motor is worn out.

Its either something is trapped in the washing machine or the bearings have gone.
