Mend Electrolux EWF 1087

Electrolux EWF 1087 unbalanced drum/tub, noisy, stiff?

It started becoming noisy especially on the spin cycle and now the drum/tub is stiff to turn manually.
I am not game to start it as I think the fact it is stiff to turn would burn out the electric motor.
Could somebody please advise me on how to fix it as I don't have the $ for a replacement or a repair person.
Mainly because I have been crook and off work.

sounds like the bearings have failed.BIG job to repair if they have.total strip required.most people replace at this stage!!
