Mend Maytag SAV2655AWW Model Washer Years

Entire agitator comes out with clothes?

I have a Maytag Model # SAV2655AWW washer 5 years old. When I take the clothes out of the washer the entire agitator comes out with them. Put the agitator back on and twist it a bit but with any movement will lift right out of tub

I fixed my Maytag by removing the top plastic part with the dispenser cap and then with a hairdryer heating the 4 larger plastic tabs that the agitator sets on. After geting the tabs warm moving them out from the center just a little then palceing the agitator back on. Now it does not come off when I take the clothes out

I have the same problem. The agitator will also lift during the wash cycle. You should wonder if your clothes are getting clean. The agitator is not doing it's job. I am currently trying to solve this.
