my hoover dishwasher is not emptying all the water after wash cycle?

used to fix washing machines!!! but I think the same theory applies.

If its newly installed it may be that the drain pipe at the back is too high. often had that problem with newly installed ones. it means that water pushed by the pump up the pipe doesn't go out properly there fore when the pump switches off to end the cycle it then drains back into the machine.
This also then leaves all the dirty water in for the next cycle, hence the washing (pots in your case ) get washed in the dirty/stale water from last time.

If its been working fine before it may be that the filter is blocked or the pump has gone.
