Hi There could be a partial blockage of the inlet flow there should be a fine mesh strainer in one of the hose joints ( where hose joins on to machine or isolation tap) also most decent dishwasher tablets ( no offence ) have enough water softening salt in them to dispence with the extra salt you put in , hop this helps
