how do i get carbon brushes out?

a pair of long nosed pliers to hold the bottom of the brush box a chubby flat screwdriver or a piece of stiff wire bent into a hook on the end. Look up the bottom of the brush holder, one side will have a (v) shape the other side of the box will have a tag/barb this what you have to ease up to get the brush box out push your stiff wire or screwdriver up the side of the brush to release the tag/barb as the brush starts to come out help with your pliers remove spade connection. Clean the com with fine glass paper till it shows clean copper
WARNING do not release the new brushes from there holders until fitted into the motor then bend the brass tag clear of the brush REFIT spade connection repeat for other brush connection
