removing a motor from a hotpoint wdm73?

I am trying to replace the carbon brushes on the motor for my washing machine. I'm trying to take out the motor as there is a carbon brush at the bottom of the motor which I can't gain access to. unfortunately I have removed all bolts and the motor is still stuck in place with a small metal tube locked into the plastic casing. please can you advise on how to get to the carbon brushe. thanks in advance
