Mend Polti Vaporella 2400 Time Switch Machine

How can I fix my vaporella 2400?

The special locking steam cap will not lock. Every time I switch the machine on the steam is coming out everywhere. It's about 3yrs old.

Sounds like what happened to my 1500
is there a white gasket ring in the cap ?
if not, phone up Polti - they posted me one that day ! It's worked a treat for another 3 years until the heating switch has started playing up which is why i'm on htis site.
