This series is known to do this, so I'm told by my fix-it guy who fixed mine last year. It was rather cheap for a house call too, only $50 parts AND labor!!!
Once the outside housing is removed there is this black, odd shaped rubber piece down by the motor, it looks like it attaches the motor to the agitator. I don't know what it's called, I'm sorry. That's most likely the culprit, it probably needs to be replaced. I wouldn't attempt it myself, I watched him very closely and it was more than I knew. But, he was in and out of my house in 20 minutes. He even carries a bunch of those with him in his truck, he said he replaces them very frequently.
He said a lot of people throw out the washer cause they think the motor is gone, when all it is is that little part needs replacing.
Hope this helps you, my money is on that part needing replacing.
Mine would make the noise like it was going to start, but it wouldn't do anything on any cycle, I thought it was a goner.
$50 and a phone call and it's working just like new, and that was a year ago!!
