I doubt that you have broken anything.
Do basic checks like seeing if you have left any packaging on the cartridges.
It sounds as though you may have moved the printer head alignment (forcefully moved the print head belt) and now the print head is hitting the end stops.
Experiment by turning off your printer and moving the print head until you get the print head back to the position the printer thinks it is at. Do test prints which contain something in each corner so that the printer prints something at each edge. This will help you judge where to push the print head to get it back into the right position.
