Mend Epson DX4850 Printer Error

ERROR ON MY EPSON DX4850?

MY DX4850 when I turn it on it starts up then all the lights come on and the letter E flashes, the ink cartridge carrier is fully to the right so I can't access the ink cartridges.
How do I reset the printer?
This is all very strange as I think it may have come about after an update on my pc, although I can't be sure.

Well after many months it appears that there is no fix for this printer except to take it to a service agent, I have now purchased a new printer and it is NOT an epson, I will never ever never ever buy anything that is manufactured by Epson again.

when i send a letter from my computer to be printed
i get no results from the printer I have reinstaled the driver
but still does not work the light is on the printer what would be causing the problem as i can get it to scann alright

Sorry I should have said the ink cartride carier was fully to the left under the cover whci makes it in accessable.
