Mend Epson CX3200 Black Ink

My Epson Stylus CX3200 won' t print in black when color ink is empty?

My Epson Stylus CX3200 won' t print in black ink when the color ink cartdridge is empty. I wonder if there is any way to get around that as I do not always have a need to print in color.

No printer will print if one of the cartridges is empty, even when printing in black only a small amount of colour ink is used, two reasons, first to keep the colour nozzles clear, second the colour makes the black a true black.

you need to change you printer settings from control panel to black printing only, this will need to be reversed when you want to print using colour again.
