Mend Craftsman DYS 4500 Tractor Forward

My Craftsman DYS 4500 won't do anything when I put into gear?

My Craftsman Lawn Tractor, when put into gear, won't move. The shifter goes into Forward or Reverse but does not engage.
Can I repair this ? Is this an easy fix ? Or could this be something major ? Thanks

There is a square key (available at Lowe's, in the specialty hardware drawers) that slides into notches in the rear wheels and rear axle. If you are missing either of these square keys, your DYS 4500 will not move. Hopefully this (very inexpensive) fix will do the trick! (Otherwise, check the upper belt) Good luck!
