Mend Craftsman 14 hp Kohler Mower Running 12

craftsman riding mower 14 hp kohler quits running after 1/2 hour?

i have a craftsman 14 hp kohler engine it runs fine for about 30 minutes , then it starts to miss then it stalls out like someone just shut it off, then will not restart till it cools down, i put new fuel filter and a new spark plug in it , and also checked the spark after it quit running , it has spark and is getting gas and still wont start. any suggestions would be helpful thanks

had that problem on my 20 hp Craftsman. It was the coil getting hot. Replaced coil problem gone.

How about the voltage level and battery not keeping the required min for the fuel supply (if it has one of the electronic selonid-type valves on the bottom of the carb)? I had same prob, checked everything over a few times after it quits; checked charging/selninoid,etc...all it was was voltage dropping below 9V which cut the fuel supply in the carb.

hi john i was thinking coil also but i pulled the plug out as soon as it quits and its getting a good spark, and as for the fuel soilenoid it has one how can you tell if its going bad? thx trod tony

30 mins is quite a long time for a fault to develop...but we can assume that it is heat related, so suspect that the ignition coil is starting to fail, or maybe the fuel feed solenoid in the bottom of the carburettor - if it has one.
