Mend Craftsman Koehler 15hp Tractor Engine Jump Start

dead tractor?

I have a ten year old 15hp koehler engine craftsman tractor. Battery was dead, went to jump it and really hate to say this, I hooked up the battery cables wrong. Then there was some smoke coming from the wires and of course the tractor is dead. What do I need to do?

trace your wiring where it smoked for bareness or it will short on the bodywork, check all in case anywhere else.
Temporary repairs can be done with electrical connectors but a whole loom can be expensive. The fuse may also have blown,
check if lights go on or try another battery say off your car if the voltage is the same
