Mend Craftsman 917.258552 Riding Model

How can I fix a hole in my hydro tranny housing?

I have a 1997 Craftsman riding mower, model 917.258552, and my brother in law knocked a hole in the bottom of the tranny housing and all the fluid drained out. How can I fix this? Would it be better to just buy another mower?

If its not in a stress point you can use sheet matal and a sealer like a 2 part poxy ....JB WELD is a good one ....can buy at car parts dept .....proably use small sheet metal screws on it too
