how can i fix my jaguar 23kw combi boiler?

I have just fixed the F1 fault by pressing the red reset button which is next to what I will - no doubt incorrectly - term "the flaming cabinet (of doom)"
I'm not sure which model it is but I took off the outer (white) case, the inner (alu) case which is clipped in place at the bottom. I then, completely unnecessarily, took off the front housing of "the flaming cabinet (of doom)" and freaked myself out when, having pressed the reset button to the left of "the flaming cabinet (of doom)", the cabinet errupted to life with scorching blue flame!
Not sure how long it will last. My mate, Ed, who works for BG said that often the gas inlet valve gets blocked and so the boiler thinks that the incorrect size pipe is going into the boiler. So either you have to clean the stuff out of the valve or something else (Ed was going on a bit and I lost concentration when a robin landed near the window).

pressure is too high decrease it to around 1 bbar
turn boiler off on the switch underneath the boiler
then do a hard reset
press and hold the down button underneath the radiator symbol on display panel whilst at the same time switching the boiler back om
this will carry out a deep reset and restore the boiler to its factory settings
try this before calling a plumber out

hi i have a jaguar boiler 28kw the heating works fine but no hot water but if i put the heating on we get hot water but this is the only way to get hot water can you help !!

The problem sounds like the heat exchanger is block. (F3). A plumber can prabably unblock it but if it occurs again it will need changing. (F1) refers to no flame being detected, or the boiler overheating. If you turn off the boiler and take the front cover off ( a screw on the bottom) then the inside cover (two clips on the bottom) there are some pipes visible to the left. fixed onto one of these is a small reset switch (you will need a screwdriver to press it). Once you have pressed it. replace the covers turn on the boiler and press the reset button on the controll panel and it should start up the boiler again. Good Luck.

I have a basic manual for this boiler, I can't scan and e-mail it to you all (it's cr*p anyway), but I can tell you the customer support number on the back of my booklet is 01773 525957. See if they can supply a copy. I can also tell you that fault F0 is due to either 'loss of system water', 'airlock in boiler', or 'pressure sensor failure', and F1 is 'no flame detected' or 'overheating of the boiler'.

Even with this poxy manual i can't work out why I have suddenly lost all hot water to my property, yet the heating works and the boiler shows no fault.

The same F1 problem - which sometimes restarts after 10 or so presses of Reset - and sometimes doesn't.

I know the manual is saved in a safe place - but have no recollection of where that safe place is!

F1 means the boilers saftey switch has trigger. You need to open the manual and follow the instructions on how to reset the switch. You need to take the front cover off, and side panel on the left, its a little red button on a sensor with 2 wires either side. Overheat can be casued by air in the central heating system or a blackage. If it keeps tripping out with F1 you have a problem that needs fixing.
