Craftsman 6.0 HP Model 917.387620 leaking fuel?

When I filled the mower with gas for the new season, it started to leak out of the primer bulb and inside the air manifold, saturating the air filter and leaking fuel everywhere. Is there some kind of valve or float stuck open that needs to be cleaned?

Take your carb off and remove the float bowl, remove float pin and check needle and seat underneath. You can try to clean it but most of the time you just replace the needle and seat. These are sold as a kit.
