Mend Panasonic TX-32DK1 Switch Tv

How can I fix my Panasonic TX-32DK1 Television?

When I switch on my TV it has a faded / distorted screen and then swtiches itself off after about 2-3 seconds. I have to keep switching it back on 10 times (no joke) before it would stay on with a normal picture. How can I fix this without having to call out an engineer?
