Panasic TX-28PS12 Stand by light flashes TV goes off?

Hello

we have a four or five year old Panasonic TX28ps12.

It just went off.


The stand by light keeps flashing, the remote won't put it back on but the TV switch will ... for three seconds then off again.

Can anyone help?

Not an answer - sorry, but slightly more information. We have the same problem with the same TV as of Monday 30/7/07!

Turn TV on, makes funny high pitched noise, screen may come on for a few seconds, then goes off and shuts down. Standby light blinks 3 times, then repeats. Pressing the remote doesn't tv back on, just flashes the little red light some more.
Can anyone help!
