why does my TV keep switching off?

My Panasonic TX -28LD4DP Keeps switching itsself off, it stays permantly on stanby but as soon as you switch it on it switches itself off. Any ideas why? Thanks,

I have the same problem with my panasonic tv. Its a TX-28DK1. It comes on initially but the screen starts to flicker and then switches off. However when I tap it gently on the side when flickering the screen normally comes back and it works. This is obviously not good for the tv, can someone tell us whats wrong and if it can be fixed?
