My Servis M9004AL (about 3 years old) has a really bad electrical burning smell when in use. I have been told (over the phone), that the motor has gone on it, and will cost about £200 to replace.
Do you think that is the case? If so, can it be repaired more cheaply ?
hi these suffer from main circuit board faults caused by damp this makes them short out they are usually rear bottom (power off) take it off and have a look

Just been reading that it could be the carbon brushes ? Is this correct ?
