Mend Indesit WD125 Washing Machine Burning Smell Electrical

Indesit WD125 Dead?

during a drying cycle, a nasty electrical burning smell came from the machine and it is completely dead, not even a power light.
I checked the fuse and even opened up the top of the machine and measured mains volts on the input.
Something fundemental has ceased to function- but what?

I managed to fix this one myself. The 12V transformer on the control board had burned out. I swapped it out with a higher (15VA) rateed one and it is now fully functional once more.
