Mend Atco GT36H Broken Remove Shaft

replacing deck belt Atco GT36H?

I am replacing a broken deck (blade) belt and it looks like I have to remove a steering shaft which seems a little complicated for a simple task. Am I doing it right? The previous belt disintegrated so have nothing to show original route.

Yup. 19mm spanner on the locknut at the front of the steering bar. So long as you don't move the back but, it'll all go back in proper alignment.
