Miele dishwasher G4570 drains after 5 minutes operation?

Sorry, I didn't explain myself very well. This model has 3 service lights (inlet/drain, rinse aid,salt) and 6 program lights and upon choosing any of the programs it appears to working well and going through its pre rinse phase but after exactly 6 minutes the buzzer sounds, the six program lights flash and the water is drained and nothing further happens apart from the flashing of the lights and the buzzer sounding for a bit. The buzzer sounds in a sequence of 4 with a brief pause between .

Good luck - You seem to have missed the most important part of their post. "The buzzer and lights flash indicating an error." John - What lights are flashing and is there any sequence i.e. 3 flashes pause 3 flashes pause etc. The actual light flashing or the number of flashes will be the error code.

You say that it appears to be working OK and the only fault you report is cold water draining after 5 minutes.

I have a Miele 5170 - it does that same!

Consider that the first sequence is to rinse the crockery with cold water which is then drained out - new water enters and is heated and then at some point the detergent is released.

I think you report a feature rather than a fault.
