Mend Stannah 260 Move Times Problem

How do I fix our stairlift that will move a few feet then stop?

Our Stannah stairlift will only travel a few feet then stop and beep 3 times. How can I determine what the problem is? Also the remote controls stopped working despite changing the batteries - any suggestions?
