Have I got a problem with my Easytronic Corsa?

I've just bought an 02 Corsa 1.2 with Easytronic and it drives really well. It's only doe 42K miles and is mint. Today though, I put it into Auto and the A in the Rev Counter was flashing and the car wouldn't move. I tried several times before it worked again.

I then discovered that if I put it briefly into R and then A it works fine.

As yet, I haven't got the Driver's Manual (it's on its way) so I don't know if it's me doing something wrong or a fault with the box.

Any help appreciated chaps.
