Stannah 420 batteries?

I cannot get at the batteries on my Stannah 420. How do I raise the seat, which seams to be a requirement?

Stannah Stannah 420 Household Appliances, Stairlifts

remove the chair back bolt.
Drop foot plate, rip off the panel.
Unscrew the four frame angle bolts, 13mm.
Lift the chair and place a bolt in a lower hole.
Chair is now lifted.
Remove side covers and replace batteries
