Mend Halstead Finest Gold Problem Turn Start Switch

What is my problem?

When I turn on the hot water, the system tries to start but fails. I try again, fails. I switch off the system & wait a few minutes & try again & it works fine.
Ditto for the central heating.
Halstead model Finest Gold. 12 years old.
