4250 GBC Laminator?

Have you compared the cost difference between hot and cold film?

500 feet of hot film likely about 50 bucks for a pair of rolls 25 inches wide

the same amount of cold film is probably $270.00 to $300.00 bucks or more

I service roll laminators all over the western pennsylvania area. While it would be easy to disconnect the 4250s heaters it wouldnt work:( Cold machines depend on much more roll pressure than hot machines.

so you will have to buy a new cold machine......

One day I arrived at a customer and the principal and a guy I didnt know, a salesman were in the teachers room.

Hi I am here o fix the machine:) the sales guy said the district is buying all cold machines they wouldnt need you anymore. After a quick discussion on film price I repaired the machine and left...

The principal called later and thanked me for sharing the cost difference.

the district bought one cold machine for a banner maker that couldnt use hot film lamination. that was 5 years ago.



plus hot machines drive the moisture out of the items as they are laminated and tend to look better
