how can i fix my 9800 key pad?

my key pad has frozen, can anybody help please ?

Honeywell Honeywell 9800 Security Systems, Home Alarm Systems 9800 Key Pad

What had it been doing prior to that?
Showing bf ?

Power it down, mains and battery (Warning mains is dangerous and should only be touched by a competent person). Power up with new battery then mains and close lid, enter code and see what happens.
