key pad worn?

I need a new keypad for my 9800. it is worn and dificult to press some of he buttons. although the engineer has moved the pad around it is still not up to par

that sounds a load of crap mate,tell me,how did you get the foil to connect to the pcb on the key pad,?being that that the carbon pads are on the pcb and the carbon pads are one the membrane,if you use the tape to secure the foil to the pcb,then its insulated by the rubber from the track,on both sides,how can you get an electrical connection?a first year student in my company would run rings run you,

I had a membrane keypad that failed to work. I removed the membrane got some double sided tape, stuck some aluminium kitchen foil to one side of the tape, then cut to size to fit inside the individual membrane keys, removed the backing paper and stuck it to the keypad, works like new now.

if that wont work,you can recoat the membrane and pcb with an electrolite,you can get it in maplins,its a silver and carbon mixture that you dab on the membrane and pcb ,let it dry,then rebuild the keypad,
