How do I replace main bearing in a Hotpoint WML 540 washing machine?

Unfortunately the entire drum assembley has to be replaced. The bearings are inaccessible due to the drum being a welded type.
It will cost around £130 for the part and you will need to take most of the parts out of the machine before you can remove the drum. Very poor design as bearings for other machines cost about £20.
