How can I fix my Candy Grand O Washing Machine?

I have a Grand O washing machine, model GO1282-80. When it starts to spin fast there is loud banging with the drum hitting the sides of the case. On slower spins there is no problems. I had been told the bearing has gone but there is no play when moving the drum?
Would this have anything to do with the bottom spring legs which I believe should hold the drum stable when spinning at speed. I do want to repair the machine but dont want ripping off, can you offer assistance please?
