I have accidently cut through wire between control unit (Veritas) and sensor when laying flooring. How do I repair and do I need to switch off power to control unit first, if so how as I presume it will have a back up battery?
tape after a while loosens off,you may then get a short circuit and posibly a fire,so get yourself an 8 way junction box,do the job right,and yes,12 volts can cause a fire.

dont use tape,use a proper junction box,or you will have probs in the future,remove the power,battery and mains incase you cause a short circuit,also replace the blown fuse in the panel,then,you will be good to go,

ever heard of insulation tape? renew wiring or simply repair.reset the alarm and you are good to go.as long as the alarm is not set whilst you are repairing its ok.alarm will most likely show a interuption or tamper.simply reset.
