Mend Flymo 46SD Quicksilver Start Engine Time

How can I stop my Flymo 46SD Quicksilver from racing?

When I start my 46SD the engine races for a long time before I get it into normal cutting mode. There seems to be no rhyme nor reason to the length of time this takes. Sometimes I have to just stop and restart the engine but that does not always work

start by giving all linkages on carb a good dowsing with penetrating oil,wd 40, same with all leavers,see if you can get some oil down all cables too,.remove air filter and give it a wash with warm water and mild detergent...hope that helps.
