lawn mower starts but just about stays started, coughs?

my murray 4.5 with b and g engine has been great. Now she will start every time but she has no energy she just coughs and sputters but stays started. How can I fix her

try cleaning thefloat chamber out on the carb as water(condensation) gets in there when stored

It's usually a broken diaphragm in the carb that causes this, but you may want to check your air filter is clean first of all.
