Mend Quantum XTE 5.5 Engine Start Problem

how can i fix my lawn mower?

I have a quantum xte 5.5 hp push lawn mower. the last time i used it was sunday the 26th of july 2009, and it worked perfectly. I tried to use it again today the 28th of july and it won't work. After priming and pulling the starter string, the engine will start and run for about 30 secs and then shut off slowly. What could the problem be?

Raise the machine from one side[carb side],and easy take out the bowl from the carburetor,and clean the little holes in the metering bolt(the one that screw the bowl to the carb ) look if when you take the bowl out, flows constant gas from the gas the tank,clean the bowl and put back again and try.

It needs a carburettor clean - on this one the carb sits on top of the tank, I think?
